- Original Ottos Barbecue on Memorial Drive in Houston
- George H.W. Bush Loves Otto’s
- The Legendary Waylon Jennings
Once upon a time [uh no], In the beginning [scratch that], T’was the night before Christmas [oh wrong story]…
Otto’s began as a very modest Convenience store off Memorial Drive near Downtown Houston in 1951, and then grew into a BBQ Joint. At that time this was “Far West” Houston, changed a little since then!! It was known for the old-fashioned brick pit Hickory barbecue, and fresh ground on premise hamburgers. Over time the Convenience store & “Joint” went south and was replaced by Otto’s Hamburgers and a stand alone Otto’s Barbecue Restaurant. Otto’s grew into a very popular restaurant and has several locations in downtown Houston. Millions, even world dignitaries, enjoy Otto’s and we’re very grateful for and to all our Guests!
The original Otto’s has closed to make way for a new generation of development but the Legacy is in the fine hands of its owners and we proudly present the next generation of its Chef-Driven evolution…Otto’s DeLuxe Grille.
Please enjoy all the Otto’s restaurants downtown and its wide-ranging catering services, corporate or personal.
Thank you very much and please Enjoy!
Otto
